Dance Competition

The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra’s 2017 Gala, entitled “Dancing For Our Stars” is taking on the adventurous task of adding a dance competition to the night’s events!

5 teams, comprised of local celebrities, will each dance for 90 seconds in an effort to fundraise for the FSO. Voting for the team of your choice can be done online at any time from now until April 8th.

Once the evening begins votes can only be made in-person. The dance team with the most votes will be deemed the winners at the close of the competition.

Dinner at the Colton House

The Colton House package is once again up for auction at our annual gala. This year we’re offering the chance to win a night at the historic Colton House, including dinner for 8 prepared by international chef Ryan Dee!

Ryan started his career in the kitchens of the El Tovar, Bright Angel, and Phantom Ranch; working his way to Jackson Lake Lodge in Jackson Hole catering to the G9 Summit. He further honed his cooking skills at 350 Main in Park City UT and the Peaks in Telluride CO as a saucier and grill cook.

Fueling his cookery passion, Ryan enrolled in L’Ecole Ferrandi (France) studying under a renowned culinary M.O.F. (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) earning himself a CAP (Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle) and an externship at Plaza D’Athene under Alain Duscasse.

This opened the doors to experiences at Nobu, Le “R”, and Sumai’s Café in Paris and Potter’s Café in England as the Chef de Cuisine! Returning to the States, Ryan served as the sous chef at the MGM Grand and saucier at the Wynn in Las Vegas. Finally, returning to Flagstaff to settle down and raise a family.

Needless to say, dinner will be a gastronomic treat at the Colton House! Ryan’s wine pairing recommendations from his experience gained during numerous visits to salons du vin throughout the wine producing regions of France should be delightful!
